Before the Redo

We fell in love with the house the instant we saw it, but we knew it would need A LOT of work before it would ever really feel like home. Here are a few pictures of what we had to work with. :)



This is the mudroom. The picture is a little blurry; I apologize.

The first room to the left is the master bedroom and master bath.

The kitchen is to the right. We have a TON of cabinet space!

The dining room is connected to the kitchen by a swinging door. The kitchen also has a swinging door that shuts it off from the hallway. I am definitely a fan of swinging doors. They are too convenient not to love!

Down the hall to the left is the guest bedroom that will forever be known as "The Spiderman Room."

At the end of the hallway is the living room.

The third bedroom is connected to the living room.

A New Chapter

I married my best friend 4 weeks ago today! :) We are renting a 3 bedroom 2 bath house in Blue Mountain, and it has been an adventure! This grand adventure has inspired me to start a blog in hopes that documenting our progress will give me that extra push to continue checking things off of the to-do list. So far, we have painted 3 of the 4 rooms that absolutely had to be painted and moved everything into every room. With the exception of the dining room, that is; it is currently dark red and bare. We're hoping to get it painted this week! I've been working on redoing the dining room table and chairs, but I haven't finished those yet. We just can't seem to get it done - probably because it will be a room that we barely use. 

You can see why it needs to be painted this week, right?
